Up next, best-selling author and multiple Guinness World Record holder Chase Boehringer flips the script on a traditional process-oriented view and explores the role that people play in continuous improvement. "Why not you?" he'll ask, before leaving you empowered and inspired to become your own change maker.

First up: Return to Learn, UC San Diego's nationally-recognized approach to re-opening campus for limited operations with innovations like outdoor classrooms, COVID-19 testing vending machines and wastewater detection. The project is supported by a sophisticated continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma framework.
Then we'll check in with other program leaders driving process improvement initiatives, including the Lean Bench, Transformational Healthcare, and the Office of Operational Strategic Initiatives.

The session starts with an interview of William K. Balzer, author of Lean in Higher Education. He'll touch on his experience with Lean at multiple universities, then leave us pondering the big questions, such as how to truly and seamlessly incorporate Lean into the core teaching and learning mission.
Then, grab your (virtual) passport and ticket for a trip around the world. We'll check in with higher education Lean practitioners from Australia, Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States.
