Welcome Address and Keynote (Livestreamed)
Continuous iteration is at the heart of Lean Six Sigma. Continuous iteration and developing concrete outputs are at the core of agile methods. Both of these methodologies are “team-level” methodologies and describe in detail how teams ought to work. Very little, if anything at all, is prescriptive for how an individual can improve their own personal agility, how they can improve their own thoughts. This presentation blends ideas from LSS, agile methodologies and the martial arts and describes methods for improving the speed and fidelity of what minds produce.
A fast-paced lightning round to showcase several improvement projects from various campus areas along with their outcomes. The improvements will be showcased by the people involved in the changes!
Speaker: Mike Osterling
We understand the Lean Tools (value stream mapping, root-cause analysis, standard work, team huddles, etc.), but how good are we at solving problems? In fact, does it ever seem like we are fixing the same problem over and over? Effective improvement requires changing how people approach, address, and resolve problems. We need to develop "thinking problem-solvers." Very visual and hands-on, A3-Thinking is a proven step-by-step methodology that provides direction in completing the “Plan Do Check Adjust” cycle, actively engages the problem solver, their supervisor, and those affected by the problem.
Learning outcomes:
Cisco has been awarded by Gartner as the #1 global supply chain leader for 3 consecutive years. Every single product has thousands of parts with hundreds of manufacturers and subcontractors. In the period when disruption and raw material shortage difficulties globally, there are lessons learned and best practices from a people/process perspective. This session will also outline what we’re setting as a priority and how we feel the industry is moving toward and needs to be addressed.
Driven by accelerating connectivity, new talent models, and cognitive technologies, work is changing. Jobs are being reinvented, creating the “unleashed workforce”—where work is redefined to create new value and meaning for organizations, employees, stakeholders, and communities. Reimagining processes in this new paradigm requires foundational human skills more than ever. Transforming processes by keeping the human experience front-and-center enables business outcomes and amplifies the workforce experience by augmenting employees’ ability to do work, increasing their ability to collaborate across physical and digital places, providing insights and linkages to the organization’s mission, and enhancing their well-being and sense of belonging.
In this session we will learn about Kaikaku. What is Kaikaku, you ask? First recall that Kaizen means “Change for the Better.” Kaikaku is a related term that means “Radical Change.” It’s like feeding a Kaizen after midnight…
When modifying the existing process isn’t enough, consider reimagining it completely. In this session you will learn the principles of process design and work in teams in a Kaikaku exercise to completely reinvent a childhood favorite process from the ground up.
In this session you will:
A panel of experts will share their strategies and warnings for creating a vibrant continuous improvement program and how that leads to not just valuable savings but more engaged and empowered staff.

Learn how Kuali Build has helped universities achieve system-wide digital transformation with the introduction of Distributed Management. ARCS:
Implementation of Oracle ARCS (Account Reconciliation Cloud Service) to automate the process of account reconciliation. The presentation will discuss how the implementation of the ARCS module as part of the Oracle Cloud platform reduced the amount of time and effort for a large organization to reconcile accounts and close the books.
Capital Expenditures:
Implementation of Oracle Fixed Assets and capital projects in order to build a process to accomplish the dual goals of controlling expenditures at the campus level and managing fixed assets and capital projects at the Central level. The presentation will discuss how a large university implemented the software and process to meet these two goals.
AI is familiar to most of us through common applications we use every day, such as digital assistants, movie and product recommendations and social media feeds. And newer innovations in AI continue to spark the imagination, and for some fears, through new applications such as self-driving cars and ChatGPT. But what about AI in the enterprise? What are the practical applications of AI in the workplace? In this session, we’ll discuss current and future applications of AI within the Oracle Cloud Applications in use every day.
